Male infertility

Male infertility is the inability to conceive due to factors in the male partner. Precise numbers vary but generally, male factor is estimated to play a role in up to half of infertility cases. Although sperm analysis is the primary investigation for this problem, radiological examinations can in some cases reveal the etiology. The causes of male infertility can be divided into pre-testicular e.g. hormonal and/or genetic, testicular, and post-testicular e.g. obstructions. Ultrasound is the most commonly performed radiological exam for male infertility, but MRI may be used in some cases.
